XXXXX, you needn't feel afraid to let your parents join you in these
meetings.  Your mother, however displeased she may be, needs to come with you
in these meetings. 

Don't feel afraid that you will harm her with your word choice.  Of course,
you need to be kind and respectful, but say what needs to be said.

Don't let yourself be a pushover!  Go out there and get it!
